ION Applications Condition Monitoring

Continuous and pervasive condition monitoring of the health and status of critical equipment and processes is essential for efficient, clean, and safe operations in manufacturing facilities. While nearly all industrial systems are periodically inspected as part of standard operating procedures and routine maintenance schedules, not all equipment or areas can be monitored accurately, cost-effectively, or safely with existing instrumentation. In addition, the traditional, manual data collection process is very time consuming and involves many man hours and only offers snapshots of data at a single point in time.

By integrating both wired instrumentation and wireless sensor networks, the ION Wireless Condition Monitoring Application provides a single integrated window into the health and status of all critical equipment. Wireless condition monitoring devices from a variety of vendors, utilizing many different wireless technologies are combined into a single easy-to-understand interface that provides status on measurements such as temperature, humidity, vibration, voltage, tank levels and status, pressure and flow – virtually anything that can be measured. Wired and wireless instruments collecting real-time data on critical equipment such as pumps, compressors, valves, turbines and tanks are brought together and visualized so that both immediate alert states are quickly recognized and communicated and longer-term trends are to easily identified and addressed.

With the ION Wireless Condition Monitoring Application, plants can gather and integrate more operational data more easily in order to make critical decisions and operate more efficiently. Improved efficiency, plant reliability and reduced man-hours transfers into plant-wide cost savings, fewer unplanned disruptions, and more efficient maintenance.
